Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly hails from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. With a deep-rooted passion for family law, Ashley's present legal practice focuses on various aspects of family law. She concentrates the majority of her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes property distribution in marital relationships child custody battles, child support arrangements, postnuptial and prenuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement and issues, step-parent and private party adoptions and issues involving children's welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning matters, including probate, wills, trusts, and estate administration, along with commercial, contract, and civil litigation cases. Ashley has been a court-appointed mediator since 2019. She helps parties resolve their disputes without the need for court or litigation involvement. Ashley mediates private matters and also court-appointed mediation for those who want to stay clear of court proceedings and litigation.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. Then, she pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. After graduating in 2013, she excelled in her studies, placing among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was an editor at the Western New England Law Review during her time at law school. This proved her dedication to scholarship and legal research.

Ashley began her clerkship career after she completed her law degree. She worked for distinguished jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate to work as a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown Maryland to serve as an attorney for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. as an associate attorney. Her main focus at the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases involving child welfare. Ashley's dedication to her work contributed greatly to helping children who suffered neglect or abuse at care of their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to tackling social injustice went beyond her legal profession as she was a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She was a tireless worker to raise awareness about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the area of family law such as divorce, child support, custody and guardianships - aswell as estate planning, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023, with the commitment to provide a personalized approach for every client's need.
